Planting the Seed
with the See Through the Scriptures® video series
STS Cover
Searching for a method of motivating people to dig deeper into the Word that's at once fun, easy to implement, and useful in a variety of situations?

Pastor Steve Ekblad of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Janesville, Wisconsin says he's found just that! According to Pastor Ekblad, the See Through the Scriptures® video series has worked well with his congregation in four distinct ways:

  1. As an introductory, small-group prelude to the more in-depth two-year Crossways or The Divine Drama® courses – a great way to whet appetites for more intensive biblical study;
  2. As a quick way to assimilate people, often new members, into the key biblical themes and historical underpinnings that lead up to Christ;
  3. As a Sunday morning alternative for people who are unable to attend the midweek Crossways or The Divine Drama® sessions in the evening;
  4. As a way for lay-people to successfully run their own Bible study class – using the video plus follow-up questions found in the leader's guide which always spark lively discussions.

The See Through the Scriptures® video course is a convenient, turn-key way to start up and lead an organized Bible study. Sessions include an introduction, presentation, and wrap-up by Dr. Harry Wendt. The leader's guide provides written summaries of all 16 video sessions with illustrations, commentary, and discussion questions and answers.

Pastor Ekblad says, "The 30 minute-length sessions are perfect, with enough time for class participants to discuss, digest, and reflect."
