Ms. Rose Stegman and Father John Marcucci of St.
Mary of the Assumption Church in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, and Rev. John Stoudemayer
of Mt. Tabor Lutheran in Little Mountain, South Carolina have recently contacted
us to share their enthusiasm about using The Biblical Tell-Tale Time-Line in
their congregations. The Time-Line is CI’s most basic tool for
grasping the chronological sequence of events in the biblical narrative in their
historical context.
"The Biblical Tell-Tale Time-Line is fantastic,” says
Ms. Stegman. “We are thrilled to
have found this comprehensive resource for studying the Bible’s Creation
to Christ narrative. It contains a wealth of cultural and historical
information about the Bible, along with explanatory notes about the key themes
and events of Scripture.”
In Pastor Father John Marcucci’s
Bible Basics Workshop, participants journey on a seven-step examination of the Time-Line:
- To identify the key dates on the Time-Line.
- To get an overview of the sequence of events of the Bible.
- To probe the meaning of the color-coded central line of the big story.
- To review the secession of dominating political powers throughout the course
of the biblical narrative.
- To examine each of the 22 main picture frames that portray a major biblical
event.
- To delve into the written explanation of each main picture.
- To merge the first six steps into one fully integrated “big picture” of
Scripture.
Pastor Father Marcucci says, “This Time-Line is
the best resource for boosting biblical literacy I’ve seen in 30 years.”
“Campfirmation is the title of
our week-long confirmation camp held at Camp Lutherock
in Western North Carolina each year,” says Rev. Stoudemayer. The focus
is on prayer,
the Bible, stewardship, and mission. Six to eight churches, and usually about
60 teenagers,
are involved."
The Biblical Tell-Tale Time-Line is
presented during the camp week as:
- An overall discussion on how we came to have the Bible as we presently do.
- An aid in learning how to read and understand the Bible as it relates to
our lives today.
“Each camper receives a copy of the Time-Line and
we use the overhead transparency of the Time-Line for projection on
the wall. The Time-Line is an effective teaching tool because of its
clarity in presenting the themes of the Bible and the historical context within
which the Bible has been received,” concludes Rev. Stoudemayer. |
