Fall Update

Sorry for not posting for a while; it’s been a busy summer! I am pleased to report that we have had very brisk sales of Crossways materials in the last several weeks, as congregations started gearing up for the beginning of a new school year. It is nice to know that people are actively using Crossways in their congregations, and that some old friends have been re-introducing their congregations to Harry Wendt’s wonderful studies!

Just this past month we put in another order with our printer for more copies of the Divine Drama – Biblical Narrative, which seems to be the best-selling of all the Crossways books. I’m glad to see congregations using the series for adult education as well as confirmation instruction. As we move forward into the future, Sola Publishing will be printing student workbooks “in house.” This summer, we experimented with setting up existing Crossways files for our own printer, and the documents transferred over and printed just fine. We are making long term plans for how to deliver the Divine Drama electronically as well, as more and more people these days are using tablets, pads and e-readers. (You will hear more about this next year!)

In the coming month, Sola will have a display of materials at the annual convention of LCMC (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ) taking place in Lakeville, Minnesota. We will also be at a regional education festival in the Carolinas coming up in January. It’s always good to get out and talk to people about Bible studies, and the rich resources we have available. It’s also nice to get the positive feedback we have received from so many people on how the Crossways materials impacted their lives of faith!
